In Dire Straights, artists C. Meier, M Prull, and Yuyang Zhang approach photography and painting from a uniquely queer lens. All three artists blend traditional approaches and mediums, creating conversations between painting and photography; printmaking and collage; contemporary and classical modes of artmaking. Although all three manifest these cross-sections in visually distinct applications, their work is intrinsically based in a common queer experience.
